Has anyone tried my blue dye #1 idea or even talked to their doctor about
it? If not I would ask you why not? Your frank response would be appreciated but try not to be cruel, I'm sensitive.
At this point I have stopped all my crohn's meds and use the blue dye only. I don't think this is a good thing to do because if I am correct the blue dye surpresses the ulcerations but probably does nothing to stop whatever the actual cause of the disease is. The reasons that I stopped the meds are 1- to really see if the blue dye is working and 2- I think the meds cause me to have other problems. I don't think anyone should stop their meds if they try this. Someone who is having a little blood and mucas and their meds aren't working would be the best to try this blue dye but don't stop your meds!!
I still have a bit of urgency but no blood, no mucas and I am often having nicely formed stools.
My crohn's is not as severe as that of many of you and I don't think anyone with severe disease should try it. Get your doctor's permission and then try it. Same stuff that is in gatorade, blue M/Ms, any blue food. Difference is taking enough throughout the day to discolor the stool. Initially I think that enough time is needed to allow the ulcerations to heal. This took me around ten days I think. I do also take probiotics, vitamin D, fish oil occasionaly and have just started taking Turmeric.
Geez do I sound so lame? Please tell me your reservations about this. There is no way to make money here so I am not trying to sell anything.
