Yes but a woman can use the mens restroom with less flack then a man can use the womens restroom.

From the guys point of view... I have never hid my CD and I don't feel like I have ever been discriminated against or had anyone run away from me.  I have made friends over the years that have come and gone but that was not from CD.  I have never had a woman turn me away because of it either.

I do have to say though that I do at times feel weird because of the things I do with CD.  I always have a bookbag with me with the "essentials".  I feel naked without it and would be so much easier to have a "man purse" :-)    Yes it is weird to have someone to question why I go to the bathroom so much but I always feel....let them deal with it.  I am ok with how I deal with my CD...if someone else can't deal with me...then I show them the door.......but I really haven't had to do that.

I think deep down, past all the superfical stuff, humans are caring and in the end will deal with the CD.

I have used the womens room more than once.  Such is life.  No one has ever questioned me but If they did...I would ask them if they would rather clean S*it off the floor.  I think compared to that thought they wouldn't have a problem with me using the ladies room.

The abs are great. I used to get made fun of as a kid for being chubby ... now all the kids who made fun of me are packing on the pounds (I know this from facebook) while my abs are toned.

Like I said I would give it all up if the Crohn's could go away, but I guess I really needed an excuse to change diet and lifestyle ... for sure it wouldn't have happened without this stupid effing disease.

a person who doubled their body weight with crohns here, did not get the cool "benefits" of this disease.
Java Jay...I thought I was the only person who used the opposite sex bathroom...LOL...

Your not the only person to double their body weight with Crohn's either MMMNAVY. I also can't seem to lose it. My appetite never gets surpressed.

I initially gained a lot of weight when I was just taking meds ... I gained weight on prednisone and then really started to gain weight when I took remicade for some reason (healing?). I didn't start losing any weight until I incorporated dietary changes, which I wouldn't have ever gotten around to had it not been for Crohn's.

But I also have to admit I have had my ex turn me away, because I could not do the things we did as a couple. I am glad to find out rather when we had kids.

I screwed up a couple of relationships right after I was first diagnosed (and was taking prednisone) because the steroids caused me to have some serious issues with anxiety and depression, however, neither of the women left specifically because of the Crohn's and one of them has remained friends. Actually I think she was kind of flattered how emotional I was able to become over her in my steroid-induced frenzies LOL. If any women ever did leave because of the Crohn's I would tell them "thank you" for helping to weed themselves out as a keeper :-) I'm not afraid of those ones; rather I'm afraid of the ones who seem so sweet and wonderful and then when you move in together you find out she is the "wicked witch of the west."

I had one of my dearest friends (male) walk when I was told I needed to get an ostomy asap.

It shattered my confidence and self-esteem for years...
