Hair Loss??? Prednisone or Humira???!!!!

I am experiencing severe hair loss. It started at the beginning of October 09. I started tampering off Prednisone in September (50mg) then off it by mid October (0mg).  My GI said it's from being on Prednisone for so long and finally being off it, my body needs to adjust. I am just wondering when it is going to stop.

 

I was thinking it might be from the HUMIRA (started Aug. of 09). So my question would be:

 

Did anyone else get severe hair loss from Prednisone or Humira?

Did it stop?

How long does it last?

When will it grow back?

I'm very scared and just need some advice. Thank you.

I feel ya on the hair loss, I've lost quite a bit myself...there have been a few post recently as well...I think it would be the prednisone...but my dad was on plavix too and his skin and hair became thinner with that too...as soon as he got off the plavix, in two months you could see the difference, but it didn't get back to "normal" for about 4-6...and a similar time with the predinsone.

I hope it grows back full for you...

I'm also expericencing severe hair loss.  And it's an awful feeling!  sad  

I stopped taking prednisone end of September, beginning of October after being on it for 4-5 months and the hair loss started soon after that.  I'm also on Remicade but never experienced hair loss the first time I was on it so I'm chalking mine to prednisone.  Hopefully once it's totally out of my system, my hair will begin to grow back.  Good luck and hang in there...I know it's hard to deal with!

Oh another thing...when you lose hair to medication it almost always grows back once you stop taking it (or when it's totally out of your system.)

Thank you for your advice. Im going to my GI tommorrow and am going to ask him how long it takes to get out of your system. You hang in there also and I'll post on what he says.
