Does anyone know anything about the Vaccine with Adjuvant(sp)? It's suppose to boost immune response. Since my Daughter is on Imuran, I'm not sure if the Vaccine should have the Adjuvant or not, or what effect it would have on Crohn's. I'm not even sure which shot she got right now, (with or without the Adjuvant in it, as in Canada we have both)

Since the point of imuran is to lower the immune response, I would think you wouldn't want to take anything that would counteract that. It's just a guess though.

If she is not having any problems now, whether it had adjunct in it or not, it doesn't seem to be harming her in anyway. Here we can request the shot without it. Good luck!

The adjuvant boosts immune response, which you need to create anti-bodies to the virus. The less immune response the less effective the vaccine. So, (and I'm just guessing here) I would think that the adjuvant would be ADVANTAGEOUS in this instance since Imuran may tamp down the immune response to the vaccine.

I'm on Humira and I took the adjuvanted vaccine two weeks ago.

I'd be interested to know what a dr. would say.

I also received the adjuvent vaccine. I am essentially in remission and take entocort. My dr. decided to provide no opinion on the vaccine. The vaccine without adjuvent in Canada is technically only for pregnant women. All others get adjuvent.

That said, i am not sure the adjuvent one provides that much of an advantage for an immune response. It uses much less antigen so the adjuvent essentially makes up for the difference in antigen quantity.
