hey bev! i have used the fibrin glue, not sure if its the same as bio glue though. my surgeon tried it a couple times for fistulas in my butt, but yeah it didnt really work out for me. it has the best chance if your fistula is completely dry and clean and uninfected, and mine were always exact opposite of that. i couldnt get the infection to go away long enough to give the glue a chance.
but it is definitly worth a try yeah?
is your fistula in your tummy infected?
also ive had different kinds of drains and stuff put in and they helped a lot at keeping it open to let the infecty mess drain nicely, they hurt so much when its too closed off to drain!! *shudder*
my surg explained to me that the fibrin glue worked kinda like that window insulation glue, you know that stuff? how it squirts in to expand and fill the space? hahha hard to explain.
