Need a Southern California (O.C.) doctor

I live in Orange County and have been commuting to Los Angeles to see my Crohn's specialist. After today's long drive and most frustrating appointment, I am looking to make a change. If anyone can recommend a good specialist in the Orange County area, I would truly appreciate it.

I just found that UCI has a Digestive Disease Center....anyone been there yet??

i was contemplating moving back to OC from SD a few years ago, and asked my GI whom i should see up there. he recommended dr. craig ennis, who is in orange (or at least he was like 2 years ago). my doc (goldklang) trained him and thus highly recommends him. i like my doc so if i did/do ever move to OC, this whom i would first see. sorry i do not have a phone number for him.

Thank you!! I have heard of Dr. Ennis, I will look into this option.

I have a local G.I. in Mission Viejo, who I love!! We decided together to pursue the doc in LA, since he is a "Crohn's specialist". However, I would be willing to travel down to San Diego. Does your doc specialize in IBD??

he is a GI. so i would say yes. he's got IBS and IBD (CD &UC) patients and i am sure others. i've been with him for many years and i am pleased with him. i moved to SD cos i was going to scripps while i was in college, making the drive from the IE, so it was easy for me just to move to SD and keep my doc. my guy is in encinitas and la jolla, so you still got like an hour drive, but imho the traffic and view is better driving to SD than LA.

I know it's not Orange County, but I see a great doctor out of Loma Linda University, named Michael Walter. I live just north of O.C. and it is about a 25 minute commute for me.

I don't know what part of OC potatoqwn is in, but I can't imagine it taking only 25 minutes to get to Loma Linda. try an hour and 25 minutes! at least!

In OC I would recommend Dr. Donald Abrahm. He is in Newport Beach. He is highly regarded. I have heard good things about the group at the UCI Digestive Disease Center but have no specific recommendation for you.

Its funny, I am actually in the opposite position as you, I moved to LA and have been driving to see my GI doc down in OC. Monday I have my first appointment up at Cedars-Sinai with Dr. Melmed.

Good luck at Cedar's. I have seen Dr. Targan and Dr. V., both are great doc's.
