smhair HI EVERYBODY   i am new to this so i hope i am doing it right   are you all feeling chipper ha ha    .Diagnosed crohns about 3 4 months ago  but probabley had it a BIT longer flippin orrible aint it   i think it s ok with you to go into a bit of detail  started with constpation  then lots of mucus scared to go to doctor ( you allways think the worst)  but plucked up the courage  had all the exams from him then hosp had 2 siegostomys(spelling?) told the good news  they put me on asacol and predfoam enamas (how pleasant) came off them not a lot of diff still on asacol  back on predfoam enamas this time after doing it theres some blood in the foam SHOULD I WORRY about THAT  but i have lost that flamin urgency to go only 2 times yesterday so far today 2  but the constpation is still there feel ok in myself  fink i got a cold ?  hope i have not bored you   please let me know if theres any fing else i can do  tryin to keep a sence of humor kind regards to you all

Welcome to HealingWell! Don't worry about going into detail, honestly, there isn't anything you could say to the members here to gross them out, and everyone is more than willing to help you out! That said, feel free to vent away anytime. I know this disease can be extremely frustrating, and there aren't many outlets in real life for us to go to in order to vent in the first place.

I'm surprised you weren't prescribed any prednisone yet though. I know most doctors will prescribe that first along with maintenance medication like asacol or pentasa. Some like to start with the stronger meds, but I don't know many people who have done that yet...I'm sure plenty here have though.

Have you tried anything special with your diet to help ease symptoms??

Anyway, keep us updated, and feel free to ask questions anytime :)

I kind of figured you were from the UK given the vernacular you're using. I'm from Tennessee (among other places, but you know home is home!).

Hi butcher, sounds like you have crohn's colitis (crohn's affecting the colon) same as me, typically the meds you are taking are used to treat that area, also sounds like you have proctitis (crohn's affecting the rectom) which is typically why you'd be on rectal meds...don't worry about the blood in the foam, once the foam kicks in it'll more than likely alleviate that, just stick with it cuz depending on the severity will depend on how long it'll take to get your proctitis under control.


Maybe look into a good probiotic as well (a supplement which has friendly bacteria and can also aid with symptoms of IBD).

Welcome to Healing Well Butcher, it's good you're keeping your sense of humor, if you lose it there are plenty of people here who will help you find it again.

It sounds like you get the big D and the big C. Welcome to the club. If you haven't already, you may want to read many of the old posts, they can answer some of your questions and give you an idea of what to expect in the future. Just don't get too frightened, you won't get all of the horrors you read about. Sometimes it can feel like you're reading your own tombstone. lol.

It may take a while to get find out what meds work best for you so hang in there and keep your GI informed of the effectiveness of them. Keep us informed too.

HI GUYS AND GIRLS have been spending a time reading the posts O M G wat you have all been putting up wiyh for so many years iam lucky so far i think will not be lomg post got rotten dose of FLU just to let you know the predfoam was s bit more comfy this morn blood nearly non existent lots of mucus during day but no nice B M still constpated ANYTHING i can take to help very hard trying to explain this disease to the family Please wat is a flare thank you all again so glad i found you all
