Dog died and I feel real sick..related to Crohn's?

My apologies for your loss of Xena.  My "children" are my two four-legged shih tzus.  I'd be devastated if something happened to either one of them.  

I say "yes" - with an exclaimation mark - that stress can cause a flair in your crohns.  I noticed a couple of weeks ago - after an argument with my husband - the following morning, I had a bad bout of diahrrea and stomach cramps.

I really tried hard to stay calm but felt that old monster "anxiety" creeping up on me last night on the ride to the vet hospital becuse I had an inkling we would be putting her to sleep. I hate that out-of-control feeling you get when panic sets in. It is so poisonous. I feel better now after getting up and walking around and drinking some juice. My insides feel sick and raw but at least I am not clammy, shaking, and having a hard time breathing.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I don't know what I would do or how I would handle losing my 2 kids ( Choc labs) they mean the world to me.

My bulldog was always at my feet. After he died it took me weeks to stop looking before I put my feet down off the coffe table. He was the only member of the family who could compete with me in flatulence. What better bond than that!? Time is your friend and will heal this pain albiet slowly. When your tears fall they will also come with a smile soon as you recall the good times with your dog. After a while longer just the smile will come. Maybe when I retire I will get myself another bulldog. For now though I will just remember Louie.

Thank you all for your words of advice and encouragement. I feel much better today. Yesterday was a very bad day with extreme nausea and I would get these weird hot flashes that would leave me shaking and weak. But today I am less nauseated and only got hot and shaky one time so I am definitely better.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I just have four legged children and when they pass on, it really hits hard. I had two little dogs for 17 years who passed on and I still miss them very much. They were the best. I have three rescue dogs now and love them dearly. They do steal one's heart and give so much love. You don't forget them but the new dogs help ease the pain somewhat.

Sniper, I actually had four dogs. My two Boxers have now passed which leaves me with my wonderful Chihuahua and Chiweenie. They knew I was sad after putting Xena to sleep and each of them sat quietly in my lap while I cried and even tried to lick my tears. Dogs are so precious. Both my dogs I have now are between 5-7 years old (not exactly sure because I got one from a Chihuahua rescue and the other from the pound) so I hope I have many many years left with them.

BTW, my tummy has been a lot better as of yesterday. I still remain nauseated 24/7 and I can barely eat without being so full and more nauseous, but I have not had any diahrrea or painful bowel movements. I have been trying to drink more protein shakes so I think that has helped with my weakness, fatigue and dizziness.
