Hey Folks, I'm a newbie to this sight but am glad that I found it. I've had Crohn's Since April of 2009, and am currently taking Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. The Remicade has helped emincely and no side effects to speak of. However, I had gastric bypass December28, 2009 and since then, a sleeping Dragon has risen and showed his pretty head. Now I know what your all thinking... Bypass Really? Well I consulted all my doctors and my surgeon and everyone was on board with my surgery. Really, think about it... Resection, bypass, almost the same thing. Anyway, since my surgery everything has been fine. No flare ups, no diarrhea, no abdominal pain NOTHING, EXCEPT, Peripheral Arthritis. One out of every Five Crohn's sufferers gets it, and I'm one of them... Couldn't have been the Lottery? Rhuematologist Doc gave me a Cotizone shot said it would just be a band aid to hold me over til my next infusion. I have my infusion Feb 2nd, then My GI Doc the next day. I havn't taken a NSAIDS since April, but I am hoping the my GI Doc will be able to give me something for the pain and swelling? If anyone has had this joint pain, they know exactly what I'm talkin about. The pain is traumatizing!!!! I can't wrap my hands with enough heat wraps! I wear splints to keep me from bumping or flinching my wrists. So I thought I would share and see if anyone else has delt with this side of Crohn's?
Thanks
Ms. Harley Behavin
