Tonight, I'm having a lot of a pressure type pain. It feels like it is from the bottom of my stomach to about
the top of where my intestines are. It's really uncomfortable, and is causing a little bit of pain in the middle of my back as well (same place the pressure type pain is located on my front, I can feel some pain on the same area in my back). If anyone has any advice of what I can do or eat or take or anything else I can do, I'd appriciate knowing. I really want to make this go away! I'm putting my kids to bed in 30 minutes, and at that time, I'm going to try a nice warm bath and see if the heat will help sooth the pain. It started after I ate dinner. I've been having the pressure a lot, but tonight it actually is hurting. Many thanks to anyone who able to respond and help!! I just felt my stomach and abdomen, and the majority of the pain is coming directly from my stomach.

With my experience with gallbladder pain though I don't think you are hurting enough for that. But then I was told mine was pretty bad and I had symptoms for years. Just a thought. Could be gas?

hmmm, I don't think it's gas, it's just the pressure type pain is really hurting my stomach. It feels like it is directly under my chest, lower than my heart. And it is directly in the center. as for the link you sent...don't think that is it, because I have some of the symptoms, but not the majority. It doesn't feel like a stomach ache or like I'm going to vomit. It feels like there is a great deal of pressure and it is tender and hurting.

My husband just called me...he's in Iraq right now. I told him what's going on and he said it could be my gullbladder. We got off the phone so he could get some breakfast. He's going to call back after that. I'm putting my kids to bed right now (I'm in WA state, it's 9:08pm here). If my hubby calls back as I get done putting them to bed, then I won't be able to message back for about
an hour or so. I'll get back on after that. I posted a welcome thread already, if you'd like to see what else is going on with me, in addition to this, just read my first post. My symptoms (whatever they are from) just seem to get worse and worse!

i hesitate to write this as I don't want to alarm you. That said what you describe is how mine felt but I had fever and the pain was so bad I could not stand much less type like you are doing. The pain was midway between my navel and my xyphoid process. I had felt it often over many years especially after sphagetti dinners. That was the first time though that it hit me so hard and gave me a fever. Perhaps someone else will chime in with an alternative. In the meantime the hot bath or a heating pad could help whatever is causing your pain.
I am off to bed. Get well

I've had my gall bladder out and what your describing could be something you ate even if you've had it before with out trouble.

A hot bath or heating pad can help, painkillers are better if you think you need them. In time it will pass, don't eat anything more until you know your bowels are moving. Liquids only. Don't rule out gallbladder though especially if you start vomiting bile. If this is a different kind of pain be sure to see a Dr. Good luck, I do know how bad this can be. Rob

Yeah it could be your ibs or yet to be diagnosed ibd. You describe pencil thin stools. If I eat a high fiber meal I get a lot of pain also as you have described. Grandpa has a point to stick with liquids for a bit.

Okay, the pain and pressure seem to be subsiding a bit. I looked up gullstones on webmd, and that might be what this is.

The symptoms they list of the gullbladder stones seems to fit what is going on except for the vomiting and fever. Also my skin color is fine. But the light colored stools, the amount of time the pain lasted, occuring after a meal, and at night, and so on. All seems to fit what's going on right now. The pain is gone now...just some slight pressure, but no pain. I've had this same pressure feeling all week, but didn't have any pain with it except tonight.

Yea, my pain was not so bad that I couldn't stand, like yours was...I had put my two children to bed between writing posts. It was bad enough that I did it quickly so I could come back downstairs and sit down again. I would say it was maybe a 4 or 5 out of 10 pain. But you have to remember, I consider my 10 pain to be comparable to when I gave birth to my son. And he was such a large baby I could barely deliver him! So, yea, it was about
a 4 or maybe 5 but no higher. It wasn't anything that was alarming me or making me think I needed to rush to the Emergency Room. It was right in the very pit of my stomach. My upper back isn't hurting anymore either. I'm not going to go to the doctor for it unless it happens again. My GI appointment is only 6 days away. I'll just consider this another piece to the puzzle that I can hand the GI docs. Hopefully we can piece it together and figure out what's on.

I really appriciate that! I really love this site. Everyone has been very understanding and welcoming. It's just what I need right now. My hubby isn't here for me to talk to, although I do get to talk to him when he calls; it's just not the same though. I don't really have any friends here to talk to either. Lots of friends back home, but the people here, in WA state, that I've met have turned out to be not so good people. My husband is due to return VERY soon. I really can't wait until he gets back!

Yea, today is a good day so far. The kids are fighting, but I think that is to be expected of 9 and 7 year old brother and sister! Today, I am going to go buy our ticekts to Walt Disney World, Florida. We are taking a much needed vacaction a couple months after my husbands return, in April. But yea, no pain today, not even cramping. But today will probably turn out to be one of the days I don't have a bm. It's been that way ever since I started the fiber. Instead of two days of constipation and one day of diarrhea, I have two days w/out having a bm or even the urge to go and then my usual one day of diarrhea. I hope you all have a great day!

Well, I think I spoke too soon about
not having any problems today...the gas is starting and a little twinge of cramping here and there. I am on Fort Lewis, pretty far from you. I am about
15 minutes from Lakewood, 20 minues from Tacoma, and about
40-45 minutes from Seattle. We've been here for almost four years...will be four years this May. Glad to see it's such a small world!

Do you guys think that I should make an appointment for that pain I was having last night? I've been thinking about
it and maybe it would be a good idea to have it documented and in my records? I forgot that today is Friday and not Saturday (my clinic is closed on saturdays). They probably still have some appointments left for today, but they tend to fill up quickly during cold/flu season! So, I'm not sure. I can't stand taking an appointment slot if I don't really need it. But at the same time, if this problem of mine persists or gets worse or whatever, I may want to have it documented. What do you all think?

I went ahead and made that appointment. The first person I talked to (Tricare uses a call center to book appointments) wouldn't make the appointment for me. She said that if I was having severe abdominal pain that "was severely limiting my daily activities" she couldn't book me and I needed to go to the ER. I tried to explain that the pain I had last night (not even today) was not severe enough to warrent an ER trip and it was not limiting me today, but she wouldn't listen. I hung up and called back...got a different person, and this one DID book the appointment for me. Sheesh, I wonder if the first one was having a bad day or something? She was pretty snotty and upitty in her tone. The second woman sound a lot nicer, though. I've never had that happen before.
