Preganant/post partum mommy rollcall

Seems like I've seen a lot of posts from pregnant women and new moms lately. Just wanted to see who else is out there and find out how you're doing.

Other than having no interest in food, I'm doing great. This poor boy is going to get all his nutrients from breakfast cereal, bagels and vitamins because that's all I want to eat. I did so much better last time. Ate a lot of pureed veggie soups to make up for the veggies I couldn't eat. Also drank veggie juice. Not this time.

I've been flaring since giving birth in Aug. 2008. Prednisone calmed me for awhile but I couldn't deal with the side effects. I begin Cimzia next week. Would love to have another but GI advises against it. So sad...

I have an 08 toddler too. Hope both of you can get into remission soon and be healthy for another.

Hi, I had a bad flare after giving birth in 2005 and it took 2 years and a resection to get me in remission so that I could have another baby. Our girl is going to be 1 year in a few weeks and I would sooo love to have another one ! I love being pregnant and really enjoy breastfeeding ! But I know it is mainly hormones talking-our house, money situation, me needing to go back to work (need a break from nappies), health - physical and mental speak against it.

Hi all. I am 27, almost 28 weeks and am in the hospital. The inflammation got out of control and it kicked off preterm labor. Now I am hooked up to all sorts of meds praying baby boy will stay in the womb a little longer. My last pregnancy was perfect. This one has been riddled with "pregnancy pains" as my ob put it. Turns out pregnancy was masking cd symptoms.

Please make sure to see your gi on a VERY regular basis while pregnant. I don't want anyone to go through the heartbreak and misery that I am having to endure right now. And if something doesn't feel right or seem right to you--QUESTION IT! This is your body and your baby. Please take care.

Crohnieyogi-- hang in there and keep that little guy cooking. I know I feel a lot different with this boy. Things were perfect with my daughter. Thanks for the warning on keepingnup with our GIs. Let us know how you're doing.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers everyone. Each day has been a challenge, but each day has shown improvement. Please don't let my distress discourage anyone from trying to get healthy enough to get pregnant. This is 99% my fault. I had moved overseas, got busy setting up house and didn't find a new gi. When I found out I was pregnant I found an ob who APPEARED to know something about cd, so I didn't bother with finding a gi. And I should have. That should have been priority number 1, but I didn't do it. And what I thought was sickness from pregnancy was really inflammation literally knocking on my uterous.

Women with cd have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies everyday. It's just up to us to stay in constant communication with our doctors. There has even been a big study on pregnancy outcomes that proves it. Perhaps it can be found on the ccfa website?

Thanks again for the wellwishes. By the way, I am on prednisone for the first time. Right now I'm at 40mg a day. about how long can I expect to be on this through the weaning process?

Now that the Entocort has kicked in I am feeling way better. 23 weeks today and praying I stay on this path. So nice to feel baby kicking, not tummy gurgling.
