Yes I agree totally that a liquid diet jump starts you out of a flare. I'm going through it now and even if I ate mashed potatoes my intestines would be wrathing in severe pain. A week of pureed soups, broths and juice does the trick.
My experience of Humira has been a long one. I was on it for well over 6 months and still not feeling the best. My energy level rose immediatly while starting and also my joint pains stopped but the stricturing area of my illeum was giving me lots of pain. This may be bc I have so much fibrotic scar tissue and no meds will help with this until I get surgery to remove it. But I was noticing that every time before my two week injection, I would feel kind of lousy. So my GI bumped up the injections to every 10 days and started me on entocort. The combo was a winner! The only reason I am flaring right now is because I began tapering to get off the entocort (mainly bc any form of steroid messes with my emotions too much). So I would say to give it time. Some patients need a special combo of the Humira and something else (ex. Imuran, Entocort..) in order to see full effects taking place. Have patience and be open-minded to try new things.
