I've never made a link between symptoms and gravy for me, but grease can be an issue. You can make a homemade gravy from a roux and broth or stock, but you would still need some form of fat, but you could choose your poison. Some type of oil, olive, veg, safflower, or butter would work. Then the flavor would come from the stock that you choose.
