Humira and Cancer..Im getting scanned to check my Lymphnodes in 2 weeks....

Had my check up today with GI after coming off of a major flare. I have felt consideribly better for the past 4 weeks and have been eating pretty well. My appetite is back Im eating healthy and back at school and just feeling over all GoOd! So at my low point in the flare I weighed 132lbs..(My normal is 148) Feeling confident that I am on the mend and have put weight back on, I get to the drs office, step on the scale and I only weigh a whopping 126lbs!!! WTH I flipped out like there must be something wrong with this digital scale?? My clothes fit better than a month ago, I feel more meat on my bones I look like there is more meat on my bones so what gives! Anyway it freaked my GI out and he didnt even get through the exam before he ordered a cat scan to check my lymphnodes because the weight loss is a symptom and the fact that my weight is so low is concern to him...I can not believe I might be one of the 4 in 10,000 LOL!!!

Suprisingly I am in a realitivly great mood considering. I just dont think I have Lymphoma and I do think it was the scale...so now Im gonna go weigh myself a few more times to make sure before I go get dye shot inside me and stuff...

Has anyone else been through this or have gotten Lymphoma from Using Humira?

Given how you feel and look I'd be willing to bet that the doc's scale was severely "off", either during prior weight checks in his office or between the last weight check in his office and this one its gone bonkers.

I get a kick out of doctor's scales anyway. My family doctor and my gastro are just around the corner from each other in the same block. I can leave my family doctor's off at 121 lbs on his scale and walk around the corner to my gastro's office and gain 7 lbs just sitting in her office waiting for our visit.

When I was on TPN for weight gain and my gastro wanted my weight taken once a week I made it a point to go to my family doctor's office for the weekly weigh in as the staff would just let me walk back to the scale and weigh in, they'd write my weight down on my chart and off I'd go. But that gave us the consistency of the same scale used for each weigh in.

I dont know that doctors' scales are EVER checked for accuracy.

I just went through something similar i've been on Immuran for over a year and it isn't working and just started remicade well in getting my "routine" chest x-ray they found something and i had to have a CT.  they thought it was lung cancer and then after the CT thought it was lymphoma and had to have am MRI of my thoracic spine.  Turns out not to be lymphoma but i have 17 tumors in my nerves from T3-11 in my spine and now have to see a neurosurgeon.  Funny thing is i've been getting intermittent numbness and shocks etc and had been seeing a neurologist who found nothing and was doing nothing and my gastro found this lol.  So yeah more things wrong.  My point to you is though i lost sleep through this whole testing ordeal thinking the worst and i wouldn't the chances are not high and lots of things can cause weight loss don't worry till you have too stress is not good for crohn's lol

I developed a lump on my neck after about a year of Humira. I had an ultrasound & a CT scan, which both came back negative but I was taken off of Humira just to be safe.

Doc...I just have to say bravo on a great attitude! I am using you as another reason to have a better attitude myself!

My friend and I were just laughing about the variation in scales. She doesn't have CD, but was recently treated for neck cancer and is trying desperately to gain weight despite no taste buds and no saliva. Me on the other hand am trying to lose weight. We both weigh ourselves at hoime before the doc. her scale always says she is gaining weight and mine always says I am losing. We get to our respective docs and she is actually losing and I have gained. Hmmmm they test truck scales regulary

We do have a trade in policy....unfortunately that policy stinks I traded in 18" of intestines but got nothing in return. I want a stimulus package for my body hehehehehe

Tomorrows the big day...was more scared of the iv than the results until i had a bad dream last night that the results were positive for lymphoma! Aaaaggghh and I do have a strong dream intuition which is making my nerves bad after last night...

I'm so glad everything turned out alright! I must say your attitude is inspiring to me, I tend to be the opposite when faced with the waiting game. If only I could keep such a positive attitude!
