After being on the SCD diet for 5 months I pretty much determined most food don't hurt me, except one category: desserts. Specifically
cookies and cake. Yes, I've made SCD friendly desserts and yes, they all do the same to me. Must be just the excess of butter and sweetener of any kind.
I'm lucky this is all I can't eat and lucky that I know what to expect if I eat a dessert. Sometimes it's worth it. Yesterday I made a flourless (no, not SCD friendly) chocolate cake and it made my brain glow it was so good! But this morning I paid for it. But it was almost worth it!
