Ist Humira injection after Infliximab for 6 years and scared in case of reaction

Hi all,

During my 3rd infusion of Infliximab i had a bad reaction, nausea, hives, breathing difficulties, the med staff ran to me. Since then I have had steroid and antihistamine prior to each infusion. I have to change to Humira because the Infliximab stops working after 4 weeks. On Tuesday I will do my first injection with the assistance of a nurse at my house and without steroid and antihistamine. The doctor thinks I will be ok because Humira is different, more humanised, but, I am still scared. Question: Has anyone had reaction to Inflixmab, changed to Humira and how is it. Help please.

I wonder if its worth seeing if you can pre-med anyway? I remember the doctos were once in conflict as to if I was having an allergic to a med and one of them said "well theres no harm in giving benadryl anyway so may as well see if it helps". If its safe to take with it it might be worth just asking to be able to put your mind at rest.

Hi all,
This morning had 1st injections of Humira. I took some antihistamine before and other eyes a bit puffy I am fine and found it really easy.

Yes. Thought so. Humira has a "less" chance of ractions throughout therapy. Though A lot do happen. Fatal ones aren't as common. But that <1% is still there.
