Going for my FIRST Sig Flex, problem w/ the enema issue...

Ok the problem is, is that I have to give myself 2 fleet enemas at the endo center.....How do I do this? I mean I can't really lay down in a public bathroom floor...So I'm really upset and don't know what to do! it is about 1hr 1/2 away from my home so I was told to come early to give myself the enema but I have never given myself one to begin with and when I looked at the package i realized this is going to be quite interesting. Has anyone been in this predicament? I wonder if they have a separate room for this and not just using the public restroom floor.....Thanks! 

i always did it at home a few hours before the exam. considering you may be on some kind of partial fast and maybe took some other stuff as well, i think using them at home an hour or two before you have to leave should not be a problem. the flex sigmoid does not go that far up, but far enough to make you never want to go to prison! ha ha ha ha ha

Wow...I wasn't told to go on a liquid diet for the day! I was told it was nothing like a colonoscopy so I didn't need to...Holy smokes now I'm upset. I may take a few laxetives tonight because I wasn't told to do anything special except since I live a bit far to come early and bring the enemas ....She said "It wouldn't be the first time a patient had to do this" Oh boy..I hope they have a special room for this..UGH!Thanks everyone

A nurse usually gives me my enema. I just don't have the hand strength to do it myself. Could you ring and ask if someone could administer it for you?

btw, I've had lots of sigs done without a liquid diet the day before: just the normal fasting a couple of hours before the anaesthetic.

mkl11, I have been trying to figure that one out myself and allot of PPL say they never get anything and do fine, others differ. I was told at first that I wouldn't need anything from the Clinical trial Nurse but when it was scheduled I was told to bring someone to drive me home afterward because of the anesthesia....so I don't know what's happening...This was scheduled on friday and since it's a move it, move it type of situation I didn't get to ask any IMPORTANT questions! UGH....

I am glad it is over and went well!! Sometimes I think the stress and worry leading up to the test are worse than the test itself. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is, you will know all about it.
