Do you ever throw up?

I have a lot of nausea, but rarely ever throw up. I think you need to call your doc again and tell them it's still going on. If you're not able to keep food down, it's not good. Are you able to keep liquids down? Try and drink liquids slowly as much as you can so you don't get dehydrated.

I think you should call your doc and let him/her know you are still throwing up. You may be having severe reflux or crohn's higher up like in your esophagus. I'm not a doc so I don't know what is wrong, but you should have it checked out.

If you can keep liquids down and some foods, it might be a partial obstruction. You need to have a "small bowel follow through" XRAY to find out. They radiologist should specifically Xray the area of your intestines where the CD is located.

Try drinking chamomile tea with honey.

I have disease in my upper GI tract, and so I void very easily. Physical activity and pain is the main culprit with me.

Good idea georgiabeach, I forgot that GERD can do that too. And yes, -J, anxiety and stress can cause nausea and vomiting. I got hit with a bout yesterday. Ticks me off when that happens too:) Hubby and I had some plans, but had to turn around and come home. Grrr!!! I feel your pain. Hugs!

yes phenogren helps but its hard to stay in either end i take it.if its bad go to the ER for iv meds

I used to throw up a lot too, it was actually usually the worst part of my Crohn's - I used to throw up up to 30 times a day! I had a lot of partial obstructions though, but I don't think it was always due to obstructions. I also have Crohn's in my duodenum (it is quite mild though, not enough that I notice pain from it as far as I know) along with severe disease in my ileum - ascending colon (or did, since I just had surgery). I'm still not sure what always caused the vomiting for me, they never found any problems with my gallbladder, no stomach ulcers, reflux etc. Anti-nausea meds would never help as well, and generally speaking, it was usually much worse in the mornings, and sometimes very late at night. I also tend to throw up even if my stomach is empty. You're definitely not alone, wish I knew what caused it in my case but it could definitely be Crohn's related.

I have had a few obstructions to my knowledge, but I have no idea what causes it the rest of the time, although I know that my inflammation did cause very significant narrowing. Are you constipated? I usually am, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it, although there was a time when I had D along with the vomiting (back before I was diagnosed). It really is horrible on your teeth though, I noticed recently that my teeth have become a lot more sensitive than they used to be, it's getting really annoying.

Valerie, to answer your question, I am not constipated, in fact, I have had diarrhea everyday since I've been diagnosed three years ago! buh!  I have gotten used to it, but the vomiting I will never get used to!  It has gotten better over time, but there are days that I can barely make it ouf of the shower before getting sick.  And its usually always on an empty stomach.

Yest., the dr. gave me an Rx for generic Previcid.
The copay was as a generic, and the bottle says that, but the capsules actually say Prevacid, so I don't know what that means.

I filled mine for generic as well and the pharmacist said the generic actually comes from the same manufacturer as the non-generic. Which is why it still says Prevacid on the pills. Just goes to show you how they can price gouge us. Anyways, prevacid helps me immensely when I have bad heart burn.
