Im so upset.. I had my Colonoscopy last Friday and after the Dr. said that he saw some inflammation in the left side of my colon.. Said it was "Colitis".. took some biopsies.. Everything came out clear?! So the Endoscopy nurse calls me today to see how I am doing and she said that the Dr. found some Colitis through the scope but "Determined he was wrong when the Biopsy results came back clear"... ?!.. What the h*** is that supposed to mean?????? Sorry, I am just lost at what to think. I have an appt with my GI on the 15th and I am assuming she is going to want an Upper GI.. In the meanwhile I am still VERY sick, on no medication and my bones ache... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I HATE THIS.

It sucks! But you can do this. I think doing an upper GI (the 18 foot one, not the 3 foot one) is a good idea since you feel sick.

Thanks for the support MMMNAVY-- I am crying because I just hate it when the Dr. asks me "How are you feeling"?? I feel like saying "DO YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW"?!!??! I just hate it. I dont like this feeling of not knowing what I have, not being on any meds.. And EVERYDAY no matter what I eat, I am SICK. In the bathroom all the time. Sometimes with blood and mucus sometimes without. :*(((

Yeah it really sucks when you know there is something wrong and they cannot find it.
I cannot tell you how many doctors told me there was nothing wrong (except in my head), untill they did the pill camera, found some abnormalites, and then did the long EGD and found bad disease.

I will make sure to let her know about these tests... I moved my appt up to today at 3pm.. Hopefully I will get some answers. Thanks again!

RoseAnnette, i really feel for you. It is terrible when you know that something is wrong yet unless whatever is wrong is so obvious some Drs seem to think it clever to say there is no problem, they can be wrong you know. Soooooooooo! frustrating. I think they forget that your the one that is suffering and that every day counts. Hope your feeling better soon and get some real answers.

I feel for you!! I can relate. I was originally diagnosed with UC, changed to Crohn's, and then today they are not sure and thinking I might have both (?). Sometimes the doctors just dont know...and it takes a long time to get a straight answer (8 years for me so far) Just dont give up!!! You are not your disease.

Thank you for all the support everyone! I called my Dr shortly after posting this and moved my appt up to today at 3pm. She discussed the results of the Colonoscopy.. Inflammationon the left side of my colon. She also said that we can now rule out UC. I think she is leaning more towards Crohn's Disease. They scheduled me for an Upper GI and a Barium Enema for Monday morning. I have a question though.. Can they tell if it is Crohn's Disease right after the Upper GI? Or do I have to wait for some results? She also put me on Asacol 400mg 3x's a day.

She also went over the blood work results and my white blood cell count was elevted by 1 point and my Sedementation rate was 38, I think she said normal was in the low 20's??

Most people when they ask "how are you feeling?" we don't tell them the truth as they won't understand. But when a doctor asks you "how are you feeling?" let them have it. Hold nothing back be very descriptive. They are asking so it will help them to treat you! I wasn't diagnosed until I got mad and became aggressive with my doctors. Patients is only a virtue up to a certain point. Let the doc know your frustrated and you want answers.
