Post-Resection Recovery Questions

Two and a half weeks ago I had another bowel resection to get rid of a fistula (to the skin) that I'd had for a year and a half. After a week, right before I was about to be discharged, an abscess was discovered so they had to go back into the midline incision and drain it. I'm finally home now and feeling pretty good (I'd recommend an epidural to anybody going in for a resection, much better than a morphine "pain button"). I'm just wondering, how long should I wait before I start driving again...or doing any exercise more than walking....or drinking wine....or having sex...? Regarding exercise and activities, all my surgeon said was "if it doesn't hurt, you can do it"...but I'm wondering if anybody has any other suggestions. I'd like to do everything I can to fully recover, but spring is here and I'm anxious to go out on the skiff and go camping and have fun! And, I do have a serious boyfriend....

Nevermind, I called my surgeon today and asked him about drinking wine and having sex....and he says," oh you don't have to wait at all, you can do it now...in fact, you can do both at the same time" and I started laughing and said, "oh! okay, i'll tell my boyfriend" and he laughed and said, "oh yea, he'll love it" HAHAHAHA.....

My surgeon told me to do whatever felt comfortable. He warned against lifting for several weeks and wanted me to stay home from work for several weeks but that was about it.
