wondering if anybody has experience with medication, BUSPIRONE, asked my GASTRO, to prescribe
anti-anxiety, thats what he came up with, 10mg once at bedtime,
WANT TO KNOW IF SUCCESSFUL

I've only ever been on zoloft and xanax, but they both helped me alot! Perhaps you might want to see a psychiatrist and/or counselor to help you work through some of your anxiety. It can be helpful to have meds and therapy combined. Good luck!

I have used Buspar for over 10yrs.  I have not had anything work as well and it dosen't leave me dopey or unable to stay awake, just seemeart at those times I am s to still my mind and racing heart on those nites I can't sleep and  can't stop my brain from getting out of anxiety mode.  hope you have as good of results and good luck

I used it for a few months. It seemed to mellow me out without any drastic reactions. My doc suggested it's especially effective when mixed with an anti-depressant. I had no side effects but I think it took a couple weeks to kick in. Not like Ativan and Xanax that help within minutes. Good luck!

My 2nd GI prescribed Buspirone along with Elavil and I don't remember what problems I was having, but my mom asked her boss (who was a psychiatrist) and he said the two should NOT be prescribed together.  I left that GI because he was a moron anyway and started seeing a psychiatrist, who gave me Remeron instead, as it's supposed to be easy on the gut.  So, I don't know how well Buspirone would have helped on it's own, but I shouldn't have been taking it with the Elavil.
