Background: I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease during the summer of 2008. It seems to me like there is a correlation between Crohn's and allergies. I am allergic to pollen, dust, cats, dogs, but no food. I am currently on Humira which is a wonderful drug (if you can afford it). I have completely removed anything with milk in it from my diet except for Lactaid milk and have removed all caffinated and carbonated beverages from my diet. This has helped a ton and I'm symptom free as long as I'm on Humira. Humira is an injecatble that is taken every other week.
Method: I'm currently trying to get off Humira and I recently I tried a diet of only veggies, fruit, and meat. I was surprised with my results. I was able to get off Humira for a week before signs started showing up again (most of time I don't make it a day). I removed all bread, my lactaid milk, all juices, anything with corn syrup (basically anything that promotes parasite and bacteria growth.)
Conclusion: Diet plays a very important role in managing Crohn's Disease. I haven't found a cure but there is a trend. The more natural the food is, the better it is for you and managing Crohns. Stay away from man made food and beverages for ex. alcohol, soda, brownies, candy, chips, and stay away from milk.
