Last night as I sat out on the back porch I noticed a small toad sitting on our stoop obviously waiting for some unsupecting bug to come along and provide a meal. We have a bumper crop of june bugs this year and they come to the porch light so, I picked one up and tossed it over near the toad. He gobbled it up so fast my eyes never saw the action so i found another , a nice fat one, and tossed it to him. Again it was gone in a flash. After the fourth one he stopped eating what I tossed near by and seemed to be in some discomfort. Then he picked up his back foot and placed it on the side of his fat little belly and pushed in and around for a while as if rearranging what was inside. That made me think. I also do this when in pain or discomfort. Pushing on the spot that hurts sometimes helps. I dont know why , perhaps it helps move the gas about
or on down the line but for whatever reason, I try it no matter what the results. Of course it does not always work. I was wondering if anyone else does this? If its some natural response to mash on ones gut when it hurts? I'm not talking about
a soft rub like on a sore musle but a good mash like your trying to push the pain out or away.
