crohn's in the mouth

Normally I get ulcers in my mouth, but for the past month or so, I have had various areas along my jaw line that feel a little swollen and tender. Every week it's a new area that is sore and tender. And I also get the odd ulcer in some of the areas.

Anyone had swelling/inflammation without a lot of ulcers in the mouth before?

You can get Crohn's in your mouth....I get ulcers in my mouth every so often when I have a flare. Or sometimes for no real reason...

Yes, you are talking about me!  I had the worst recent flare and had no idea that it was Crohn's related. My esophogeus (sp?) had migrating ulcers (I could feel the scab slough off as they tried to heal  - made me gag!) that then erupted in my mouth when I went of prednisone ... ulcers everywhere except my tonsil area so I knew it wasn't strep ... and there was a weird cobblstone patter on the roof of my mouth. My doc said that it was without a doubt crohn's.  I get vuvla sores at the same time. Of course, the only difinitive way is to take a biopsy and see if they are granulomas ... but it makes sense. Back on prednisone.

I just found out that I have c-diff which is causing this recent flare ...

My doc prescribed Magic Mouthwash, an RX, which I"m going to try next time.

FYI - I've also has ulcers on my scalp and in my nose!

Hang in there ... my challenge is when my throat/mouth/esophogeus is raw, what to suck on as sugar free stuff gives me the runs .. and I think I'm rotting my teeth out! Any ideas?

I have cd really bad in my throat,esphogus, canker's and leasions on my tongue, I'm on pred, starting rem on tues. and I hope that helps that part of my cd, I was so glad to hear that I wasn't alone with my mouth issues, i started a thread like this a couple of months ago. sad that other people suffer like this but i was amazed how many of us have bad mouth and canker issues.

Anyone had them in their nose, ears or on scalp?

I get them too, right before I start getting sicker, I know when they pop up..i'm doomed ;)

i've never gotten anything in my mouth before, not that i cant remember but my crohns is really bad right now while im inbetween insurances and basically on no meds and yes, i have sores all over my mouth, its really annoying and hurts when i brush my teeth :(
