not absorbing steroid

i was just wondering if anyone here has had the problem of their body not absorbing the steroid. My son has Crohns and was doing good with the treatments until they started going down on the steroid and doctor said he wasnt absorbing the steroid. they have tried prednisone and entcort. I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem and what did your doctor do? I am so tired of seeing my son hurting and constantly having to go to hospital every month. He has had the remicaid treatments and they helped at first but after his second they have stopped making any difference.

the doctor has never even mentioned it. he does great on iv steroids when he is in the hospital but soon as he comes home and goes back on the pill kind he gets worse and they say they have to go down in mg or it can do damage to him. we are just about ready to try a different doctor. did everyone else have so many problems getting into remission and having no pain etc.? he seems worse now than when we first found out.

i have never heard of it. he said something about stopping all foods and putting a tube down his nose or surgery.

The first couple of days can be tough, but if he is willing to persist through that initial period, in spite of perhaps disliking the flavor and texture, the taste buds adjust. The taste seems normal within a day or two.
