yes, i take 8 a day, 4 in the morning and 4 at night and have been since being on pentasa for about 4 years.

Son is on four a day but if dose is based on size/weight-he is tiny :)

I'm on 4 a day (500mg) but doc says to increase if I want but I keep forgetting :/

I take 4 a day regularly. My GI told me that I can double it if I am having problems, but from what I understand there isn't much benefit to more versus less. If it is working at 4 a day I would stick to it. I did double it last year at the beginning of my last big flare. It just gave me headaches. It is really only a maintenance mediation. If you are having troubles while using it you may need something more. I would ask your doctor before reducing it though, because he/she might have a reason for the dosage.

I was originally prescribed 4 g/day (which is 8 capsules). I could never remember my midday dose, so I started taking it only 2x/day, for a total of 2 g/day. That led to some general unpleasantness. I'm trying to remember a 3rd dose (usually around 3 pm), so I'm more consistently back at 3 g/day, and that seems to be working well.

I haven't tried to take 2 g twice a day. I guess I could, but I already take a boatload of pills morning and night. Somehow I just can't get myself to do this.

I used to take 4 in the beginning but i now i take 8. 4 in the morning and 4 evening. That's the only med i'm taking at the moment but not sure for how long i'll be able to stay in remission. I did have mini flares and took entocort for a brief period in between though.

I take 4 a day..two 500mg pills twice a day (2000mg). I understand that this is the minimum dose found to be effective. I am in remission, so it seems to be working for me. I think 4000 mg is more common.

I take 8 a day, 2 each at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day/night.

I am supposed to take 6 a day, 2 in morning, 2 midday, and 2 at night. a while back I had to start rationing as my insurance wasn't going to cover it and i was running out. But I've been out of it for a while now... trying to get coverage for it but it's not working very well.

it depends what dosage your on, i take 2 500 milligram 4xD
