Need advice please. Cronie vs the healthcare system

Hello everyone I am in desperate need for some medical knowledge . I think everyone is aware of " crohns arthritis". I have been seeing a rheumy for this for over a year now. The problem is the VA wants a letter from my doc explaining how these conditions. I'm rheumy is not willing to write me a nexus letter because he says there is no way for him to prove crohns is what gave my arthritis. The problem is my labs always come back nomal. I once heard it is common for these tests sed rate, erp,etc can be inaccurate in crohns patients. So this doc won't vouch for me be he dosent mind taking my money every month. I'm 31 Years old and every joint in my body aches horribly. Does anyone out there have any knowledge about crohns arthritis 0

I have Crohn's related arthritis. I thought it was common knowledge that you could get it? I'm sitting on my couch right now feeling crappy because my knees are killing me. I'm 28 btw. But I never had to go take any tests for it, they just knew it was from the Crohn's. They did give me celebrex but I think that stuff it worthless.

Is your GI thru the VA?

I am one of us that really has bad arthritis and we are about the same age. I am only 30 and for a long time my original G.I. would not treat the arthritis pain but my new one recognizes it. My primary care is the main person that has been treating the pain and sends me in for the majority of my scans and tests. If you do have arthritis, it should show up on a x ray or mri. I have really bad back issues and everytime we do a MRI they always send back my results with arthritis caused stenosis through the whole spine. Obviously this is not normal for a 30 year old man and that would be evidence for your medical treatment. My rheumy could see the arthritis but was baffled at how to treat it since I was already on the max dose of remicade and could not take nsaids. She tried me on methotrexate and 6 mp but it raised my liver enzymes to dangerous levels despite helping with the arthritis. I know use pain medication9 neurotin and hydrocodone 10's) to help me function and from time to time still take a nsaid if I am really bad.(not a good example but sometimes benefit is greater than risk)
Please realize that many old school G.I.s are stuck in the mindset that there is no such thing as Crohn's arthritis but now medical journals are starting to recognize it as a fact. Because it is just really starting to be heavily studied, there is not much known about it or how to correctly treat it. For me the arthritis pain is just as bad if not worse than the abdominal pain because it is a constant thing. Many days I feel like the tin man from the wizard of oz and wish that I could find an oil can. Please talk to your G.I. or atleast to your primary care doc about the pain and they can do the necessary mri or x rays to provide you with evidence for treatment. I would also speak to a pain management clinic about helping with your pain.
