How can I reduce burning around the... y'know

I'm getting a lot of diarrhea right now and it's causing a lot of burning. I dunno what to do. Suggestions?

Ideas:

* rub a little olive oil on the burning area
* or nappy rash cream
* or zinc cream
* wash yourself as well as possible after each bm. I used to keep a little sealed container of water (sometimes with some liquid soap dissolved in it) beside the toiilet for this purpose. Wipe normally, then wipe / wash with tp soaked in the soapy solution, then dab dry with more fresh tp. This should help clear away some of the remaining faecal matter and help reduce burning.

Me, I'd start with the washing and the olive oil.

Desitin diaper cream - "ORIGINAL" - the purple jar/tube, not the blue. The purple one "original" has more zinc oxide and will heal you up faster and prevent the burn for subsequent bm's with D. Sorry you're in pain. Hope the cream helps you a bit.

Calmoseptine is my preferred ointment. You can get it at any pharmacy, but most don't keep it in stock, so they'll have to order it. It's pretty cheap, though. 7 bucks for a large tube (one large tube takes me roughly a month to go through) at Wal-Mart. Don't need a prescription, so yeah.

How much do zinc creams go for and where can I buy them?

Triple paste cream - in the diaper rash section. I also like Bourdeax's Butt Paste - it's a little lighter. But, neither of these have the diaper rash med smell to them. I've tried Calmoseptine... I like the Triple Paste best for the really bad days.

Maybe try an online pharmacy if you can't find zinc locally.

zinc creams and ointments can be found in any drug store or the baby/diaper section of Walmart or a grocery store.

Another vote for Calmseptine!!

I have fissures, a fistula, and major D which all added up to so much pain, I could hardly walk after. Would have to lie down to let the pain subside. Came on here asking the same question you did and heard about Calmoseptine. This was my miracle!! I had tried all the diaper rash creams and while they eventually helped that area to heal, they didn't help with the pain and burning and I needed immediate relief. I had tried benzocaine creams, but they burned so bad when first applying I thought I would die.

This cream has menthol in it, which kinda scared me that it would burn like fire, but it doesn't. It immediately numbs and cools the burning and makes life liveable. I have a tube in both bathrooms and one in my purse. I call Walmart Pharmacy and they have it for me the next day.

Trust me, you won't regret it.

Seriously, Bag Balm. I got it in the pharmacy area at the store. It comes in a square tin. It helps me a lot when I need to use it.
