I gained quite a bit of weight BACK with remi, which was a good thing. I'm not as young as I once was, and I think my metabolism has changed some. I try to keep busy with walking (I walk the golf course 2-3 times a week and try to walk more on top of that) and my weight has largely plateaued at what I consider my "normal" body weight. (170 up to 210 lbs since Remi 2 years ago. I'm 6'2".) Although I'd say I have more of a propensity for weight gain around the middle now, I am older and I think I absorb nutrients a lot better than I did before (Celiac disease diagnosed a few years prior to the Crohn's.) I think my body still responds well to exercise. I eat almost all organic and don't drink or eat "empty" calories. If I did, I think my weight would be more of a battle. I think people can really screw up their metabolisms trying to manipulate their diets too much. (Flavored water and a granola bar for lunch??; hardly sounds healthy, sorry.)
Starving your body MAKES it retain fat. If you are really lost with your weight and diet, tell your doc and set up a nutritionist appointment. Most weight loss places are in it for PROFIT first, outcomes second. Go to someone that is geared toward the latter.
