Just wondering if it's okay to have the occasional glass of wine or cocktail while on Humira

(not that I'm planning on doing it anytime soon, still weaning off the Pred and still not 100 percent better...but I was curious how the medication would interact with drinking alcohol)

I drink occasionally and my GI knows, and hasn't says anything about it. She isn't the type not to tell me when I shouldn't do something, so I think in moderation it's ok.

I haven't had any alcohol in months, it was hurtful..............literally, about 5-10 minutes after hitting my stomach it got a "different" alcohol burn in my gut.   Got no idea what to tell you.

I don't recall that alcohol was contraindicated with humira..I was just wondering myself if I could have an oz of irish cream in my coffee, but I think one of my meds doesn't allow for it. Anyone have a clue about rifampin, clofazimine or clarithromycin??
I'm used to not drinking becasue half the time I'm on flagyl and it's a big no-no to even have cough medicines with alchol but it would be nice once in awhile to have an ounce. Have to be careful too as I'm on an SSRI for anxiety and I think you're supposed to limit alcohol with those

You can drink on Humira, just take it easy. Your liver is important!

Yeah, I'm not drinking for awhile anyway 'cause my stomach is still all mesed up. But it's nice to know for the future once (or rather if...) everything gets back to normal

I am on Methotrexate and I asked my GI about the occasional drink and his reply was 'of course, life's too short'. In agreement with sniper - moderation, anyway I have found the odd glass is much more enjoyable !

I've been taking Humira for a few years now and I normally have a few drinks at least once a week. I've never had a problem and according to my bloodwork I'm in good shape! My GI has never said anything about my drinking, now my smoking is a different story but drinking seems to be fine.

I take my Remi (that is a more troublesome cousin of humira) and occasionally have my wine glass!

turn   turn turn   I have 2 agree with Becky I 2 have a few drinks once in a while while I was on Humira and told my doc and she didn't advise me not 2 just 2 be careful and don't over do it,,I'm young @ least I still consider myself young and I enjoy going out with my friends and having a few beer or spirits and me and my husband have always had a few glasses of wine with our dinner in the evening,,I say just don't get loaded but check it out on line google it and c what it says anything about do not drink while on Humira if so it will put your mind @ ease right cause everybody is different in what they can handle booze wize,,u know yourself better than any doc right but do some research first pleeze...~Jenn~
