Hey guys, been awhile since I posted. Its been rough and haven't had any good news yet. Doc has had me try a few meds for the cramping pain with no luck, and upped my Imuran to the max dose I'm allowed to take. Now she has me tapering off the pred to see if my symptoms get worse again (which so far is a yes). On top of all that my eyesight has gotten blurry now so i have to wear glasses and my GI doc set me up with and eye doctor appointment at the hospital as well as a Liver doctor appointment cause my LFTs are iffy.

And with all this going on and fall semester of college starting on the 30th I'm afraid I might have to drop out because I'm in an apprenticeship program so that means i have to work full time while in college, but im not cleared to do long distance driving and its hard to find a place that is willing to work around all the doctors appointments I have and still give me full credit for the apprenticeship. sad

sorry for the rant but just needed to get it off my chest

That sucks. I'm in the middle of a severe flare too, and I'm trying to go to school for my PhD in neurobiology. A PhD program is a lifestyle and a 40+ work week, although most of my work right now can be done at home. My insurance is through the school so I'm really nervous about having to take time out to rest when I need it. I don't want to blow this because I am determined to get my PhD, and I also don't want to lose my insurance. I've been really doubting myself lately since it's been 3 weeks on Prednisone, and I'm not seeing an improvement. (I'm going on Humira ASAP.) Up until I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, I really thought I could do anything I put my mind to; however, now I am limited by my health needs. I'm use to pushing myself and counting on myself to do everything, and now I can't. It's frustrating!

I wish you could do college and the apprenticeship program. I know people in perfect health who have struggled to do college and a full-time job. If you turn down the apprenticeship now, would they consider you in the future? If so, you could put it off a year until you are in better condition. The worst case scenario would be taking on more than you can handle and then letting people down and looking like you aren't capable. Good luck!

If i turn it down i should be able to pick it up again later, But college is my only income (VA education benefits through my Mom). So if i do drop the college apprenticeship i'll have to find some other way to pay the bills sad . Unfourtunatly im not trained for anything or have anything but basic knowledge.
