first week of LDN

My boy started on LDN last monday. because of his age and size, the Dr. started him at .5mg, increasing by .5 weekly. we short tracked the .5 to 4 days. he is now moving up to 1.5 tonight. seems to be okay, but hard to say. his crp was at 71, and esr at 34 before we started.  It's wierd, no symptoms. no pain, no D, no weight loss, and lots of energy. he's upset, because at those levels, we restricted his diet.

what's also a bit odd is that his Iron is down, but his hemoglobin is up.(?) his ferriton(S) is also good

We do have the numbers pre LDN, and will have the numbers every couple of months. We will let you know how this goes. fingers crossed

Hi comedybob! I don't know the answer to your question, but wanted to suggest you join the LDN yahoo group if you haven't. You will find LDN users there of all ages who will quickly answer your questions.

How wonderful that you have found a Dr. willing to try LDN! I hope and pray that it works for your son! Remember, LDN is thought to be rendered ineffective if there is an underlying candida albicans overgrowth (something most people have to some extent). A diet like the SCD would be helpful in eliminating this. It also helps re-introduce the beneficial bacteria (through home made yogurt) into the gut that fight candida.

Good luck! Do you mean the serum iron is down - if so, then it might be OK because it can fluctuate widely thru the day. The hgb and ferritin are the most important indicators, so it looks good.
