Very interesting research. I tried SCD for one year but never got much off the intro diet, my symptoms were better but not perfect. I then went to eating only the following: any meat, cauliflower, broccoli, coconut oil, avocado, lemon juice and olive oil. I have eaten only those items for the last year and have not had any crohn's symptoms the entire time. I eat broccoli for all three meals of the day and consume about
5 pounds a day (that's a lot - a shopping bag totally full). I was diagnosed with sever crohn's 2 years ago (having had it undiagnosed for 3 years before that), have never taken prednisone, anti-inflammatories, biologics or immunosuppressents, but I am in full symptomatic remission. Everything 100% functions totally normally. I am 100% convinced I have been able to control my disease symptoms with diet. My belief has been that the key to my success has been the avoidance of almost all carbohydrates (broccoli has some, but they are simple carbs which, according to SCD should be ok), but part of it may be due to something related to broccoli. I really encourage all Crohn's suffered to explore using diet as a treatment. It took me a full year to get under control and I've had to make extreme dietary sacrifices, but it totally worth it to feel 100% better. Please feel free to contact me if you want more info about
crohn's diets (I've done a ton of research and have lots of good resources) or encouragement.
Cheers
