Hi all,

I know I mentioned lately having blood on the tp as well as blood in the toilet etc. as well as having itching.  I do have at least 2 skin tags ( hard to tell sometimes if they are swollen or if there are more than 1.  I took it upon myself yesterday to use a small light and hand held mirror to see what felt like something was snagging the tp when I used it.  Looks as though there is a cut right next to my anus...not too sure if it is bigger than what I saw being it is right next to a skin tag.  Any thoughts if this might be a tiny fissure?  I am going to try to make my scope sooner than the set date.  Any ideas what to use on it to ease the discomfort

Yes i think you should try some disposable/flushable wet wipes instead of using toilet paper. This is the approach my doctor has me taking at least for now, because i have had several abscess surgeries and recently a major rectal abscess surgery where my new surgeon removed a ton of scar tissue. I learned that my ex surgeon has been doing a half ace job on my surgeries...probably do to inexperience. you could also look at getting some prescription lidocaine gel to numb the area.

I only use the wet wipes every time I go the GI has me using hydrocortizone creamon it but it doesnt seem to help..in the past I have tried rectagel also when I had a really bad fissure I had to go to a compounding pharmacy where they mixed a nitroglycerine ointment for me. however that is all gone and when I moved to OR from RI I left those docs behind...oping my scope will give my current GI some insight on my situation...when I moved here I did bring my GI med records including my last scopes pathology report

Sounds like what I have - a fissure. It would itch during the day, and ACHE after any pooping, even diarrhea. I also had a lot of blood. I asked my GI about it during my last appt, and he sent me to a proctologist. I can't say it was a blast to show the inside of my butt to a doctor, but it helped. She recommended a prescription-strength cream to put on 2x/day and taking a hot bath after pooping. So far, it's helped some. I have less pain during, and far less blood. You should definitely get it checked out because if you let it go, you might need surgery to correct it.

I had a fissure before too this doesnt bleed as much as that one sis though
