pregnancy after a resection?

 

Hello

i just am getting through my first bowel resection and wondering how pregnacy was after having that surgery.  i had previous c section in 04 and now this surgery in june.  Does the scar tissue stretch? does it hurt? my ob said its possible but that it wont be easy. espicially if i need another section... anyone have thier kids post resection and how did it go. oh and how long did you wait till you started trying?

Hi, I had my son five years before I was diagnosed and I had my daughter a year and a half after my resection. I never had a C-section, so I can't speak to that. But I will say that post re-section, I began exercising and getting in good shape. My pregnancy with my daughter was actually much easier than with my son. It is indeed possible. While pregnant, I decreased my Pentasa maintenance dose. Best of luck to you!
