Helminthic Therapy

I have been researching Helminthic Therapy in consideration of pursuing it as a treatment option. One major question that I could not find an answer to is, potential ramifications if my insurance company were to find out.

Autoimmune Therapies requires you to have your doctor express that he/she is OK with it. If I could lose my insurance from intentionally infecting myself with worms, then I would be wary to have my doctor know. Having to keep this from my doctor is not something I am not willing to do and therefore getting worms would be out of the question.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

I understand you could always do that.  My only issue is that my doctor knows a lot more than me and I have a lot of respect for him; not only want him to be fully aware of what was going on, but also to be part of the decision.

I'm pretty sure that in order to get the worms you have to have multiple tests/blood work done and a form filled out by your doctor.  I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that on the site when I was looking into it a while back.

I got helminthic therapy treatment and I let my dr know. She approved it. My insurance company doesn't know and unless I put in a claim, doesn't really care. I have blue cross blue shield. Let me know if you have any questions about it (I am now in remission).
