Long time regular visitor - but rarely posted.

Diagnosed with Fistulizing Crohn's in 2004. 6MP and Pentasa didn't work. Had abt 3 fistula surgeries.
Went on Prednisone 50mg in Feb 2009 and reduced it over an year to 15mg. It put me in remission. Gained almost 25pounds.
But Crohn's symptoms came back in July '10. Lost weight by 15pounds, Iron and Hg(9.4) went down. Developed cataracts. Went back to 20mg and 4 infusions of Ferrelecit 250mg/dose in Aug'10.

Doctor recommended Humira/Cimzia. Made a decision to go on Humira. Had a positive ppd and a negative chest X-ray. Started Isoniazid 300mg three weeks back.
Iron and Hg(11) are coming back.

Started Humira yesterday with 4 shots. Doing great as of now with no side-effects except for fatigue and headache.
Will be undergoing monthly Liver function Tests for Isoniazid (which I am more worried about than Humira itself).

Hope this puts me in remission.

Visiting this forum helps me relate with people who undergo the suffering on every day basis. Have great doctor(s) at NYP/Columbia.

39yr/male/Current meds-
Pred 20mg, Flagyl, Isoniazid 300mg, Lialda 4.8g, Zinc, B-6, Tramadol(if needed)

Been on Humira for almost a year now with no side effects other then bruising every now and then.
Going for a scope Oct 18, will see if Humira has worked or not. (fingers crossed)

Its been a week since I started Humira... no negative side-effects.
The fistula & abdominal pain has come down significantly and eating lot more than I used to.

Hope I achieve the much needed remission. Trying to be very positive.

Been on it for 3 weeks. Have seen no positive results.

waiting to start humira... hopefully start next week. Keep us posted on how it goes for you.

I just started Humira about 4 weeks ago. I also had incredible fatigue after the 4 shots. It was much less with the 2 shots and even less with the single shot. I started seeing an improvement in about a week and a half. My doctor said about a third of her patients saw improvements in a week or two and another third saw improvements after several weeks. I hope you feel better! (Also, I messed up the first of the two injections I had to do at home for the first time. Don't panic. I called the 18004HUMIRA number, and they overnighted 2 pens to my pharmacy free of charge so now I have another backup.)

just wondering who your dr is there.. i have to go to get a second opinion and my GI recommended one from there
