Help, Seeing ALOT of Blood after surgery

I'm really worried...I'm 12 days post 2nd resection and about 4 days ago, I started seeing alot of blood in my bowel movements. At first I didn't think alot about seeing some blood because before surgery I was told that I have a anal fissure..with some blood then and alot of pain....But now the blood is alot worse and I'm not feeling the same after the big D as before surgery (burning and pain for hours after a movement), just looseing alot of blood, bright red with blood clots.

Very sorry to be so gross, but I really don't have no one to ask...I called the surgeon today and spoke with his nurse, and she said she would have to ask my Dr. the surgeon, and I've not heard anything back yet.

Just really worried about where this blood could be coming from and how much blood a body can loose? thanks for any advice...

does it have a very strong and awful odor? Is it bleeding a lot, like the 'D" every 3o mins or so, or just when you have a BM? I was bleeding like haivng "D" every 30 to 45 mins. I had a mjor bleed out at day 16. Iwas put back in hospital, but bleeding stopped on its own after about 14 hours. they were ready to cart me back to surgery, but were cehcking blood levels every hour or so. and finally, the bleeding stopped and levels went above 8 for hemoglobin.

I would call the doctor on call, and if you are not sure go straight to the er. this is not something to mess around with.

No , it doesn't have a bad smell.....

Yes, It's bleeding alot...With every BM...Which is alot since surgery....I've had very bad D every since. Usually about 5 to 8 times a day.

When you say u had a major bleed out, what happened?

Please check with dr/emergency- the bleeding is not something to wait around on- I ended up on blood transfusions and in hospital for weeks after a major bleed which came with every bowel movement... i'm not saying yours is the same or worse, but at least get it checked- thats my thoughts anyway... now it was not post-op in my case but I do know that amount of blood you are describing sounds like a lot to me,

Definitely call the dr or emergency number. I remember my post op discharge papers said to report any bleeding immediately.

Let us know what happens.

The Dr. office finally got back to me this morning..
They sent me to get blood work.
Have appointment with Dr. who did the surgery on Wed.

Just to update...The bleeding has thankfully slowed today..Hopefully that is a good sign.

Dr. Says my blood test shows a good level.....

Said not to worry about blood loss... (not a easy thing to do, 2 weeks after a Resection) He said that if the bleeding has not stopped in 2 weeks, that I will need another scope.

Sure makes u wonder...........
