at what point do you go to er?

Thats a tough one, i've been there. I went once and spent a few hours, they did some blood work and sent me home with nothing. It was good to know that nothing was seriously wrong since hey sent me home, but it was a waste of time and I was still in pain.
My GI is good, if I call and say that something has changed and I am in pain he can usually see me that day.
Some people go to the er every time something changes, it's really up to you.... but it is Tuesday so it probably wont be crazy busy if you do go.

I'd be checking in with someone either the GI or the ER if you can't get any relief. Trust your instincts and don't try to be brave or stubborn.

It is constant. It feels like someone is squeezing my insides

You should go to the ER if your stomach is distended or if you have a feeling of pressure. Mostly likely your intestines are inflamed and swollen causing partial bowel obstruction. You do not want to rupture. I had similar symptoms and i was admitted to the hospital. I did not have severe pain but i had a lot of pressure.
