I have read material on using distilled water to drink and for cooking with crohn's people. Has anyone had any experience with this and if so was it helpful in less cramping and pains.
Thank you
O

distilled water should only be used for short periods of time for therapeutic uses only. because it is "pure" water (ie no minerals or impurities), long term use of it actually causes minerals to be leached from your bones. i used it exclusively for 3 months under supervision of jordan rubin of the makers diet. worked fine for me.
for cooking i am sure you'll be fine as you'll be eating food that will be giving you the nutrients you need. but be wary of using it as your sole source of drinking water.
from my personal experience i cannot say if it helped or not. i was doing a lot at that time - very limited diet, carb ceiling, etc etc.
if you are having leg cramps, you could be low in iron or chronically dehydrated.

Thank you CrazyHarry for your info on distilled water. We were thinking of putting a distiller machine in the house, but maybe we will just by it from the drug store at the time I am really feeling unwell for days with pain and nausea.
