New Here really needed to no i'm not alone in this :/

about 2 years ago I went into a local Hospital thinking I had apendisitis (or however you spell that haha) terrible stomach pain, bulging areas LOUD noices and terrible constipation, I couldn't stop throwing up either. I was givin fernergin and then had a cat scan as well as a colonoscopy, and sure enough it was crohn's... Severe. I went to another hopital about 45 mins from my house, supposed to be good... haha boy was I wrong they went in to remove the section that was diseased in my intestines and did a faulty patch up, they said it was like trying to sew up wet tissue paper but they "thought it would do" two days later my stomach began to swell it got bigger and bigger until I felt something rupture it seemed like, the next thing I knew I woke up on a ventalator with and iliostomy on one side and six drains on the other I got terrible paratenitis from they're lousy surgery, almost died. Then I spent 13 weeks in that hospital recouping all the while developing ICU phycosis not to mention I'm already clostorphobic and the room I was in was dull and tiny. My parents then knew I needed to go some where better because this place had no clue what to do and they were only making me worse. So Me and my iliostomy I named cecil haha went to Duke I went and saw a surgeon there who was the best of the best in gastro surgery he told me that it would be a difficult surgery even for him he said it would take 4 hours... The day of the surgery came and it actually took 9 hours, he said it looked like a bomb had went off in my stomach there were fistulas and absess two partial blocks which explained why my feeding tube wasn't helping me, (i literally got down to 72 lbs and I'm 5'6) anyway he was able to reverse the ostomy and take out the drains which had fistulas wrapped around them :/. He sent me to a gastroenterologist who put me on humara, I was also put on a research program because they didn't see alot of people with crohns as bad as mine. Since then i've had 4 picc lines with antibiotics many hospital stays and a surgery coming up for a MASSIVE absess that starts at my pelvis and ends at my abdomen. All of this is still affects of the surgery that went wrong at my local hospital. I'm coming to a point were I feel alone in all this and I thought maybe they're were some people out there that have had problems too and would be able to give me some advice and encouragement. Hello and welcome. Yes you have had more than your share of bad things and I cannot hold a candle to you , but there are folks here that have been though much of what you have and are very knowledgeable on the whats and wherefores . The site moves fast here and people miss post. If you dont get the answers you need or want just bump your post up to the top again by posting to it. Again, welcome to the site...

Hi Ruthy! You have come to the right place! When I was first diagnsed in 2007, Iwas depressed and confused. I had no one to talk to who could possibly understand. I stumbled upon this forum when searching for for info about crohns. It has been a huge source of support for me. Read this post by sniper, he says it all!
