Helminthic therapy, hookworms, whipworms and how I achieved remission from Crohn's - Part 2

Do you have any testimonies/links to any patients that haven't had to re-dose for 2 years or more? I've read several blogs of patients using hookworms and they all had to re-dose around the 6--12 month mark. Don't get me wrong, that''s still very good as long as it works, but the time-frame is nowhere close to the 3-5 years that AIT claims.

HT, thank you for such an informative thread and taking time to answer questions. I am quite fascinated by any alternative treatment that is ostensibly rooted in scientific evidence. I haven't yet taken the time to read any of the papers on your wiki, so with that in mind, I'd like to ask you about something.

There are a lot of people out there enjoying a med free remission by following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. We'll never know how many, but my guess would be that the number is in the thousands. The theory behind the SCD is that it controls Crohn's symptoms by starving, and therefore eliminating, problem bacteria and restoring the natural ecology of the bowel's flora. I'm just curious as to your opinion about the SCD (if you've ever studied it) and does helminthic therapy also have an impact on gastrointestinal flora?

Yes, I am concerned about any potential side effects of Remicade. At the time I was put on it, I was in a bad way and hadn't done well on other medications, with the exception of prednisone. Remicade was the last stop before surgery. My GI has discussed the possibility of stopping the treatments next year if I continue to do as well as I have been. It's something I'm seriously considering but I'm not quite 100% there.

I read how to build the incubator and how to incubate the hookworm from feces, but I don't understand about getting the infected hookworm feces to begin with. Would any feces potentially collect hookworms or do I need feces from a hookworm infected donor? If so, how do I find a donor? Does it need to come from a human? Can I collect feces from a dog, goat, cow, pig, etc.? I live in Maui, Hawaii. Is there a chance that hookworm hasn't been eliminated from the environment here as I read it was eliminated in the mainland? Please help, I have Ulcerative Colitis, and am ready to proceed with this therapy. Jack

I am in the process of TRYING to contact Jasper,  I have exhausted my medical treatment and the last resort for UC is surgery.  I ahve been waiting on Jasper for a week with no response at all from the clinic other than auto reply.

How was your experience with them?  Were they prompt at return emails?  Do you have a phone number for the clinic?

I must admit I have high expectations at the moment for this therapy.  If it works as well for me the benefits are more than remission, the food sensitivity issues, seasonal allergies, ..... being so sick and hearing something like this working is a scary place to be, the highs and lows of chronic illness are hard to cope with.  I've tried alot of things that have given me this kind of hope.

You're mistaken. That picture is of my colon and I would be happy to prove it to you. I am only a patient who had a really good response to this therapy. Obviously, I want to share this information with other Crohn's patients. I have taken Remicade and Humira for over a year and I have never claimed that they are worthless. Humira, in fact was the only thing that ever helped me and I have recommended it to others to bring the acute stage of disease into remission. However, it does have a black box warning and people have died of hepatosplenic lymphoma after taking TNF inhibitors for autoimmune diseases. If you want I will put you in touch with the surviving relatives of such patients and will link you to facebook accounts of victims of TNF inhibitors and their relatives. These are the real victims of the FDA. I have already explained why this therapy isn't approved by FDA and if I were to wait until it was approved, I'd still be sick.
I am not selling anything at all - the only website I ever directed people to was opensourcehelminththerapy.org/ which is a wiki page containing ALL information on helminthic therapy. It contains all mention of it in the news, and over 140 research articles under the "Studies" section. I do not sell anything on that website, it doesn't generate any ad revenue and its only purpose is to be a central hub for all information on helminthic therapy.
I challenge you to show me where I ever engaged in direct marketing of the product to purchase from a specific vendor. In fact I have a DIY section on the wiki page where people use that information to breed them for free.
My only purpose is to share my own experience which was quite successful. I have links on my wiki site to various blogs of other people who have tried it, some are not as successful but everyone has some kind of positive response. I am also not raising money for any sort of study, I have a day job (it's not in a medical field) and I do this only in my spare time.
I have gotten many private messages from the users on this forum thanking me for providing valuable info on this therapy, so hopefully you are in the minority with your opinion.

You are incorrect in this case. I personally know some other members of this board and they will vouch for me being a patient and having no connection to selling anything.
I have never claimed that Dr. Weinstock is a medical fellow of my current GI - where do you see me saying that? Please link me or stop false accusations. My GI works at New York Hospital and has no connection to Dr. Weinstock. My only connection to him is trying TSO in 2004 - it helped me but I couldn't afford it - it was 3000 euro. I met Dr. Weinstock at the autoimmune conference at the UN a few months ago and I can post pictures and a video I took with my blackberry at that conference.

about helminthic therapy not being approved and not being out long enough. This is patently false. Helminthic therapy was tried by humans for a few million years. Currently over 1 billion people in the world have helminthic parasites. If that's not the biggest medical trial ever, I don't know what is. Necator Americanus and Trichuris Trichiura are two of the best studied organisms in parasitology. I looked up autopsy results from 1927 in New York City - over 97% of them contained helminthic parasites. We evolved with them over millions of years. Helminthic organisms suppress the inflammation mechanisms of the immune system in the gut dampening the immune response, regulating Th1 andTh2 immune responses. Why it's not legal in the US:

You can't patent a biological organism. If the pharma company can't patent a drug, they can't recoup their costs. It takes on average 8-12 years and $100 million dollars to push the new drug through all the stages of clinical trials. No company will do that if they can't get their money back. That's why clinical trials are not being pursued while we - patients - continue being sick.
2nd problem - if you only take this organism every 3-5 years, and lose all side effects of our chronic diseases, you will stop using traditional medicine. Abbot labs already lost thousands of dollars on me when I stopped using Humira. I also lost my food allergies (avocado, cherries, peaches, plums and apricots). Imagine the billions of dollars of lost revenue if chronic disease patients stop taking their medications for multiple sclerosis, UC, Crohn's, Sjogren's, asthma and allergies. Narcolepsy was just implicated to have an auto-immune component as well. This would lead to hundreds of billions of dollars of losses. Of course, big pharma companies will do everything in their power to keep this off the markets. They will spread fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) as you are doing by saying that this therapy is not FDA approved. If I were to wait for this therapy, I would still be very ill. All I am trying to do is spread information
to others like me, who might benefit and can't wait 1-2 decades until this becomes legal.

By all means, if you can't afford the hefty price tag, go the DIY way - there are donors available in the US if you look on the yahoo forums mentioned in my wiki.

Did you follow all the links I posted in the previous post? Did you read the articles? Or are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? Please read all the links I posted in detail before passing judgment. In regards to my 16 years of Crohn's experience - this is exactly what I am doing - spreading the knowledge of a therapy that actually works and explains why autoimmune diseases are on the rise and why in Africa and South America, autoimmune diseases are virtually unheard of. In fact the map of helminthic distribution is the exact inverse of the map of the distribution of autoimmune diseases.
Again, I don't mind arguing but please do your research first, so that we can have an educated discussion without blind accusations. For starters, read this:

And as soon as Necator Americanus and Trichuris Trichiura are approved by FDA, hundreds of companies will spring up selling various versions of their organisms for an extremely low cost. The big pharma companies will never be able to recoup their costs and they know it. The way FDA is set up in USA unfortunately is quite sad. Ask any doctor or anyone who ever dealt with FDA - it's sad but true.

Again, read the links, and then we can engage in a constructive discussion. Your hunches that I am trying to sell something based on zero evidence are not helping anyone.
