Fun Times - 3rd colonoscopy next week!

Hello!

I found out today that my gastro wants to do another colonoscopy on me, next week. Let me back track a little... had one in April and he found a rather large polyp, biopsied it, and left it as it was rather large. After the biopsy came back normal he decided he could remove it with another colonoscopy, so 2 weeks later I am back at it again... but it is too big and too well attached to be removed, I would bleed too much. Since all biopsies are ok, we are just watching it. Now, he wants to see it again... and the only problem I have is I will be 4 weeks post op on a nissen fundoplication. Not able to eat or drink much at this point. How can I possibly down the prep LOL!

Anyway, just wanted to vent a little!

You should ask for the Miralax Gatorade Prep. You just take a few dulcolax, some miralax and gatorade all tasteless only thing you taste is the Gatorade. Good luck to you. I can't imagine having that many so close to each other. Are they even covered by insurance since he just wants to check it out?

so far they have all been covered, possibly since he is biopsying (is that even a word!). I will ask him about that gatorade prep. Thanks!

That's great they have all been covered. I hope they let you do the Gatorade Prep it's taste free and goes down so easy. If I ever have a GI that doesn't allow it I will pretend that I did it their way but will really do the Gatorade Prep. Could never do anything else after being able to do the Miralax Gatorade Prep.

can you guys tell me how many dulcolaz and how many miralax? I think I am going to do this prep

Four Dulcolax Laxative tablets, MUST BE THE LAXATIVE PILLS!
Miralax Powder 238gm bottle.
64 oz. of Gatorade or Powerade (NO RED)


Mix the entire 238 gram bottle of Miralax with 2 quarts of Gatorade in a large pitcher. Stir, chill, add ice, and let it breathe for at least a few minutes.

Around 4pm the 4 Dulcolax Tablets.
Two hours after the Dulcolax, start drinking your chilled Miralax cocktail.You should pace yourself to drink about eight 8 ounce glasses (64oz.) over a 2-4 hour period, roughly one glass every 15-30 minutes, until finished.


This is the way I did it. Worked wonders and had no taste like the others.

Thank you RedSoxGirl, I am going to go today and get the ingredients! This should be so much better! Cannot wait to get this over with, 3 in one year is way too many!

Make sure to label the gatorade in the fridge or your family will get the full prep experience along with you.

Thanks, I am leaving shortly. Up most of the night, can only hope and pray that this is the last one for a while.
