I was diagnosed about 1 year ago and it has been an up and down ride for me. I never had bad symptoms compared to many here but for me it seemed like a big burden to me. Lots of time in bed and in the washroom. Feeling poorly for weeks in a row….
In any case over the last month or 6 weeks I have been symptom free and over the last couple of weeks started biking again. I went 27 miles yesterday and 20 today. I get a child like sense of joy from biking and really missed it.
I am not so silly as to think my issues are over, but man it has been great to feel good again. I thank god for this blessing of feeling good.
I am taking etocort, pentassa and doing SCD. I do not know if it is the diet or the meds or the natural course of this DD so I am not suggesting I have any answers.
My heart goes out to those who are struggling, but the reason I am writing this is to share my joy as I have shared my pain. And I hope my time of victory will bring strength to others

I can relate to this sentence.

Congrats on the feeling good at any rate. The cycling sounds good! (I'd consider it if there was anywhere I could cycle around here without having to share winding country lanes with cars doing 60mph)

It is really good to see a positive post on here and that you are recognizing the blessing of this period of remission. I am sure that you have probably have heard me say(or read my writing to be specific) that Crohn's disease is a lot like a roller coaster with the periods of ups and downs. The amazing thing for you is that you have only been diagnosed a year and are years ahead mentally of where I was after my first year. I now value even a good hour of time and have learned get as much done on those good days. Enjoy your bike rides and use those good feelings to get you through your hard days.

Congrats!! I too have been feeling better of late. Its nice to have a little break once in awhile isn't it? Hugs!

That is Great Dave!!!! I can relate becuase before this flare I was doing great. I think we appreciate it more becasue we know it MAY be fleeting. With that said I live more fully-take more joy in being brave and trying new things when I feel good. It is a blessing if you choose to look at it that way. We know our bodies are subject to Crohns so we don't take to Crohns-free days for granted. Great way to start your New Year!!

Thanks for all the positive feed back yeah

I really fell that the info and support I get here is the reason I am in this good period.

I was hesitant to post this cause I am sensitive to others who are struggeling and understand I may be struggling as early as tomorrow.

But for now, this year (2011) except that I eat funny, I would not know I have this DD. I am sypton free this year and loving it...YEA!!

Congrats on feeling good. I think its really important to post about the good times. It gives positive concrete hope to those just starting out and to those who haven't had good days in a while. Even those of us who have had periods of relative calm appreciate the good days more because we know the bad days could be right around the corner. For everyone of us who posts of good times it helps those who are struggling. Keep on posting, and keep on having good days.
