So, 2 weeks ago I stopped LDN. I had been on it about 2 1/2 months when I stopped. Initially I told myself I had to take it a minimum of 4 months before making a decision if it worked or not. Well in the beginning of December I felt a little off and like I couldn't get inflammation under control and was afraid it might lead to a flare. Plus I had not ovulated or had a period in 64 days which was weirding me out. I know they say as it regulates your body your cycle may change, and when I first started my cycle came a week early. But my cycle is very regular and I know exactly when I ovulate and when to expect my period, so not ovulating in 64 days, plus my inflammation being higher was really bothering me.
I have felt better since I stopped, I got my period 12 days after stopping and I am not sure what my next step is. I read on one forum that sometimes if you think the LDN stops working to stop and restart, possibly at a lower dose.
My mom thinks I should restart the LDN that I didn't give it long enough, my fiance thinks I should restart the Moducare (also regulates immune system) because he thinks my symptoms were better while on that than the LDN, me I am just not sure.
For now I am just taking my maintenance dose of sulfa and letting my body do its thing since I feel pretty good. But from my past history I know this is not a long term solution for me, I always flare in the spring when just on sulfa.
Any thoughts from those who have tried LDN or are on LDN? Did I quit too soon?
