I would if I could. You're not being a baby. Any new thing is daunting! Good luck...

Just imagine we're all there with you, since we will be in spirit. You'll do fine. I bet it will be easier than you think it will. And you're stronger than you think, so you can do it!
Let us know how you're doing when you get back home. I always got a low grade fever a couple hours after my infusions, so if you get that, or feel weak and crappy, it's normal. Just don't plan on doing much after the infusion.
Good luck!!

We have a lot in common! I am 39, have an 8 yr old daughter, been married almost 13 years.
AND I start remicade on Monday. I know how nervous you are, I feel much the same, at this point though I'm feeling a sense of calm. The anticipation is usually the worst part.
Good luck tomorrow I look forward to hearing all about
it so I'll know what to expect on Monday.

Well, I'm 36, have an 8 year old daughter, and have been married 13 years too! :) I have been on remicade for 6 years now...it's my miracle drug! I hope it works for you!

I think everyone is afraid the first time -- big unknown factor and all. Close your eyes and imagine us all there with you. Please let us know how you did.

I stopped taking Remicade a few years back and I'm now on Cimzia. I actually used to look forward to the infusions. It would usually take 3-4 hours, I would just relax and watch a movie or read a book. I would even occasionally get some work done.
In general it made me feel better. I could usually start feeling it as the dose began to wear off. In the end I had a reaction to it after being on it for 2+ years. I had to go on something else.

Hang in there!
By all means, tell the RN who is doing the infusion that you are nervous. Back when I was on Remicade, I had a great RN that has become a family friend. She would always explain to me what she was doing and why, and took great care of me and took great measures to be there the entire time. While nurses are expected to do a lot these days, most of them are really good caring people on the inside, and they will be happy to hold your hand.
I must say, I'm a bit envious. I had to go off Remicade about
a year ago, and I really miss it, it was my wonder drug!
And, hey, if I was up your way (and I really wish I was), I'd be happy to be there with you!
