Im playing the waiting game still.....stupid insurance company

Well I was prescribed Humira at the beginning of December and my insurance company denied it because I have indeterminate colitis with TI involvment. They stated that it wasn't approved for UC which was my original diagnosis. So me and my dr had to file an appeal. My dr sent the appeal letter in around the middle of december and then I got a call from there office yesterday stating that I had to come in and sign 2 papers so they could represent me in the appeal (insurance company won't process appeal letter til that happens) So I had to drive 40 minutes to sign my name on 2 lines.

I haven't been on meds for around 2 1/2 - 3 weeks because I had been weaning off prednisone because my GI thought I would be on humira by now. My joints are flaring and having daily stomach pain, around 10 bowel movements with blood daily and just all around not feeling well. Hoping that they will hurry up on this appeal process because its becoming hard to keep up with my 3 kids (ages 7, 2, 5 months) and I feel like im becoming a little depressed which isn't my usual self.

took me 4 months before extended health would pay for the rest of the remicade.

I lost my job last June2010, and had to get on CobraInsurance thru my job, but that will only last for 1yrand if  I go on disability it can only be extended for a total of 24months if I end up on going on disability. My Doctor wants to put me on the drug Humiria, but I now have pre-existing liver conditions, which I've probably had for about 3years now and my 2nd Gastro Doc seems to think no reason for a liver biopsy at this point since it's minimally elevated and bilirubin is normal. Anyway, I called the drug company Abbott, and they said they would send me an application to fill out and also one to my Doctor as well. When I went up to his office this week, the recptionist said they hadn't received anything yet. I've heard it's very expensive plus  that's with alot of all of the serious side effects from it. I know that goes with alot of drugs out there, but for me, I don't know if that would be a good one for me to take. I'll have to ask my Doctor and he'll probably want to do bloodwork on me again to see how everything is working. P.S. I'ce had Crohns for about 10years now and no surgery. I also now have 5-6 Fistulas and a stricture in my small bowel. the only think I'm taking right now is a probotic and a liquid Calcium.
