flu after flu shot

I suffered horribly in December, (still coughing too) but at least the antibiotics helped the CD. lol

I got the flu about 1.5 months after getting the shot.

Anyone else get this new H3N2 influenza A flu AFTER receiving the flu shot?

Never had the flu after a shot but seem to get Bronchitis every year about this time, and this one is no dif. I hate this stuff, caugh till I throw up and the antibiotics do a number on my old guts. Grrrrrrrr. Somebody , shoot me ...

Its crazy but even with everyone all around me falling down sick, I have not gotten one bug yet. Quickly knocking on wood. I got the flu shot in mid October and haven't gotten sick yet. I think in my case I credit the flu shot and my vitamin D3. Hugs!

A co-worker at work had the same thing. He had the flu shot in October, and fell sick with the flu (confirmed via swab) over new year. And he has no illnesses, so his body had plenty of time to build antibodies. I think the flu shot wasn't very accurate this year.

So far we've managed to stay healthy (knock on wood).

Don't they do the flu shot by what went around last year? And it doesn't cover all the strains of the flu. So, you can still get the flu even with the shot. I have never gotten the flu shot, and I have never had the flu either. I personally am just not a big fan of optional vaccines.

Both my kids did. Dr said there are 19 strains but the shot only covers 3 strains. It seamed to get mainly kids in our area this fall.
