Getting impatience

Still waiting for a decision on what is wrong with me....just want a diagnoses.....know they are searching but keep feeling lousy...fighting nausea....have a real sore spot in small intestine area...and they just keep saying we still have several test to run...

Been getting misdiagnosed for over 20 years....just need to be patience...but how....when you keep feeling so lousey....plus the horrible diarrhea every day....

Sniper, you really hit the nail on the head. I had been sitting in the hospital for nearly 3 weeks and been going through the diagnosis process for over 1 1/2 years and 2 surgeries. I was just about ready to eat my first hospital dinner in 2 weeks and all of a sudden got pulled out of my room for an emergency endoscopy. They wheeled me down to the g.i. portion of the hospital, put the mouth piece in my mouth and stuck an I.V. in my arm. The nurse had the propothol ready to push and was waiting for my G.I. to arrive. Then when he arrived, he looked at me and asked why I was there? I could not talk because of the mouth piece, but his nurse told him because they had received a request for me to be brought down for a scope. He looked at her and casually said,"I don't need to scope him, I already know he has Crohn's disease." I finally got the strap undone on the mouth piece and said,"What?" I don't know if I was happier to have my diagnosis or to not have another scope. My wife was crying because we had an answer and had no idea what having Crohn's meant.

MsMac, I totally know how frustrating it is to know that you are so sick and not have an answer to why you are sick. The fact that you have been able to go this long without a solid diagnosis practically makes you a saint. If you feel like you need to vent, please feel free to vent nonstop. You mentioned that you just need to be patient, I think that you have accomplished that step about 19 years ago and it is time for your docs to step up to the plate. You deserve to be started on some sort of treatment. Like sniper mentioned though, I pray that there is a miracle and you do not have this disease. Answers are amazing but cures are not over rated. I truly hope that they are atleast treating your symptoms and giving you some relief. There is no diagnosis necessary to prescribe pain medication, anti nausea, and anti diarrheals.

how can you have crohns and then not? makes no sense, we all go thru this kinda crap eary in our cd life. I woke up from my first surgery, not in recovery room, but a private room in atent, my nurse had mask on gloves the whole nine yards, I asked what is this? and she said I had typhoid fever, for 3 weeks it was like this, at the time I had just started my jockey career and I was racing in tijuana, my dad was telling me it was from eating taco's at the taco cart by the track. NOT, I fooled them. I only want something that is going to be with me FOREVER. they figured it out.
