2nd infusion done

It went fine. Got's poked 2 times though as she had a hard time finding a good place to put the iv. The nice thing was the nurse has Crohn's too. Had a slight headache again but other than that pretty uneventful.

How can i get those veins in my skinny boney hands to stand out more. Done the heatting pad, hot water...

Drink lots of water a couple of hours before going to make sure you are good and hydrated and then take the IV stand with you to the bathroom during your stay for the infusion.

I've always had better luck with arm veins. And like mdf34 said, hydrate before going and things should be better.

Glad it went well. My second is on Tuesday. They used my arm, not my hand...maybe they'd try that? I also drank ridiculous amounts of water and then didnt want to trek to the potty with the iv pole.

I used to hydrate like crazy the day before & the day of. Also, stay as warm as possible. I've learned that the hard way over the years. The warmer I stay the easier it seems for them to be able to find a vein.

Glad to hear your second infusion went so well. Now see you got yourself all freaked out for nothing:)

Most Crohnies are hard sticks as we are quite often dehydrated. Make sure that you are well hydrated when you go in, that will help ALOT!
